Cheluveye Ninna Nodalu 2010 Kannada Movie Review

The film has been shot at many iconic structures of the world, including the Taj Mahal in Agra, making it a treat to watch.Debutant director D.P. Raghuram has weaved a script that is interesting and has space for a lot of emotions. Apart from the fantastic visuals, the soothing, melodious music is another highlight. The dialogues by Chinthan are entertaining and yet touching in many sequences.<br /><br />The remix of popular song “Huttidare Kannada Naadalli Huttabeku” is sure to have audiences tapping their feet. The title song and the track “Janumana Kotta” are also quite appealing and well choreographed.<br /><br />Raghuram has ensured that the travel film does not run like a documentary. The first half is quite entertaining but the second half tends to drag at times.<br /><br />Thankfully the climax of the film has been made interesting.<br /><br />The story is about a group of people going on a world tour organised by a travel company. An enterprising and energetic Vishwa is selected to guide this group. During the journey to many places, Prakruthi, who has a negative attitude in life, changes her outlook after seeing Vishwa’s enthusiasm and helpful nature.<br /><br />She then falls in love with Vishwa, though she is reluctantly engaged to Prem, whose family has migrated to Jordan.<br /><br />Vishwa is seen solving the problems of many travellers during the trip and Prakruthi’s parents approach him to somehow make Prakruthi agree to marry Prem. This puts Vishwa in a dilemma as he too is drawn towards Prakruthi.<br /><br />Finally the entire team lands up at Prem’s house in Jordan because of certain unexpected developments. The climax shows how Vishwa’s dilemma is solved and how Prakruthi’s will triumphs in the end.<br /><br />The USP of the movie is hero Shivaraj Kumar, who has changed his look for the role. He gives a convincing performance – whether it is comedy, dance or emotional scenes.<br /><br />Shivaraj Kumar is a master of underplay, which has been quite effectively used by Raghuram. The film’s heroine Sonal Chauhan looks beautiful on screen, but she needs to improve a lot on the performance side.<br /><br />It is Hari Priya who effectively showcases her acting skills. Veteran actors Daththanna and Shanthamma have also acted well.<br /><br />Raghuram has chosen a technical team that is hugely talented. Kabir Lal has scored well in cinematography while music director Hari Krishna has also done a fantastic job in creating good songs.<br /><br />Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu is a good family entertainer.<br /><br />Verdict: 3 stars<br /><br />moviebuzz at sify.com</div><br /><br />

This makes Samantha go behind Atharva for two days as she has her college project in that pen-drive. Atharva’s mother manages to find it while washing clothes and he gives it back to Samantha. Thrilled by getting the pen-drive back, she decides to throw a party to Atharva and his friends. Love looms between the two. Now if you are wondering about the age disparity between the two, here is a clarification. Atharva is not a bright student at school and so he spends two or three years in every standard he studies. Good.<br /><br />The hero decides to express his love and when the two meet in a beach, Atharva spills a pack of condoms, which he accidentally and unknowingly picks up from Karunas’ pocket. This infuriates Samantha who decides to dump his love. Meanwhile, Atharva happens to be a witness to a murder of an ex-MLA committed by Prasanna who lives in the same area. A sudden change of events lands Atharva behind the bars. What happens to Atharva, Prasanna and Samantha is the rest of the story.<br /><br />The first half of Baana Kaathadi drags itself forward with high points here and there. It makes you wonder how a fashion technology student can fall in love with a school student (though an explanation is given). Maybe you excuse the director as he is allowed to use his cinematic freedom but the expression on Samantha’s face when the pack of condoms gets spilled is certainly questionable. We also wonder why Atharva does not make an attempt to hide it or give an explanation. In fact, the only scene in the movie which demands attention is when Prasanna kills the ex-MLA. The story shines in bits but falls flat in many places.<br /><br />Atharva does a good job as the protagonist. He looks quite real as the school boy in the slums of North Chennai. But he does seem to have a lot more in him and has a lot of potential to make it big in Kollywood. Samantha does not have a lot of scope and has done a very ordinary job as the heroine. After her brilliant performance in Ye Maaya Chesave, it is quite natural to expect more from her. But she disappoints. Karunas and others have played their parts. Some of the comedy scenes do evoke laughter in the audience.<br /><br />Director Badri Venkatesh could have handled the script a lot better. With a powerful production house and lots of talent at his disposal, he could easily have given much more powerful presentation. The screenplay does not demand attention at all and hence it is hard to hide a feeling of saturation when you are watching the movie. Even the romantic sequences between the two seem so artificial. Though the song numbers by Yuvan are fairly enjoyable it does not add strength to the otherwise ordinary movie. Same applies to the cinematography which is handled by Richard Maria Nathan. There is nothing more in the movie that is really worth mentioning.<br /><br />With no other movies releasing this weekend and a dry Friday last week, this movie had all the potential to make it big. Unfortunately, poor handling of the script and actors is a major letdown in this movie. Atharva seems qualified to do better roles in the future. It’s about the impact that ‘a pretty girl from the opposite front’ makes in the mind of a terrorist, who happens to be a poet as well.Well, such stories have been handled a zillion times in several Hindi films in the past, but the director of Rama Ravanan has tried to make it a bit more intense, especially by adding an ideological angle to this romantic story. But there lies the problem with the film as well. The focus gets diluted and the film gets into an extremely predictable track all on a sudden.<br /> <br />Thiruchelvam (Suresh Gopi) is a fugitive on the run finding refuge in a deserted bungalow. He is there on a mission before the cops nab him. He has to find Manomi (Mithra Kurian), a Sinhalese girl, who fell in love with him sometime back. She was aware that he belonged to an outfit which was engaged in war with the Sinhalese. Also, Thiruchelvam has to meet his mother, whom he hasn’t seen for years.<br /> <br />The romance between Thiruchelvam and Manomi is shown as a flashback. But you actually wonder how the two fell desperately in love considering the cold vibes between the actors. Suresh Gopi has done an okay job but Mithra Kurian looks like wooden, in most scenes.<br /> <br />Nedumudi Venu plays a character named Annadurai who treats the Sri Lankan girl like his own daughter and he has performed in a really good manner. Biju Menon, as the cop in search of Thiruchelvam has to look stylish and tough, which he does quite easily.<br /> <br />In all fairness, there is a genuine storyline here but the writer-director has mostly failed to narrate it in a convincing way. The visuals are okay and the music is fine.<br /> <br />Rama Ravanan is perhaps more of a confused film. The makers of the film seem to have been not quite sure about the genre or its target audience. It’s a pity as the film fails to impress in spite of having a decent concept. After falling from his perch atop the comedy world with a trio of high-profile disappointments, Semi Pro, Land of the Lost, and Step Brothers, the venerable funnyman seemed destined to join the tragic ranks of fellow SNL alums Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy, comic geniuses who fell prey to their own spectacular success. But he makes a triumphant return to form in The Other Guys, a riotous action comedy from longtime Ferrell collaborator Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights).<br /><br />Playing Allen Gamble, a straightlaced NYPD detective happily confined to his desk job as a forensic accountant, Ferrell dials down the goofball element that metastasized in recent years, instead exhibiting a kind of earnest cluelessness more reminiscent of his character in Elf. Safely in his element crunching numbers and combing paperwork for accounting irregularities, risk-averse Gamble is more than willing to concede the spotlight to the precinct’s glory-hound celebrity cops, Danson and Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel Jackson), who’ve charmed the citizenry with their heroic indifference toward danger, private property, or common sense.<br /><br />Gamble’s good-natured obliviousness earns him the disdain of his embittered cubicle mate, Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg), who, unlike Gamble, didn’t come by his desk job by choice. In a city scarred by accidental police shootings and devoted to its beloved Yankees, Hoitz committed the ultimate sin, clipping an unarmed Derek Jeter in the leg during a moment of panicked confusion. (“You should have shot A-Rod!” one heckler shouts.) Removed from the street indefinitely by his boss, Captain Gene Mauch (a scene-stealing Michael Keaton), Hoitz is a snarling ball of impotent rage, most of which he directs at Gamble. (For those of you keeping score, yes, Keaton’s character is named after the former baseball manager.)<br /><br />This being a buddy comedy, Gamble’s and Hoitz’s fates are destined to intersect. Sure enough, their chance to seize the fire comes when the city’s all-star crime-stoppers, Danson and Highsmith, are abruptly taken out of commission in one of the most shockingly hilarious twists in recent movie history.<br /><br />Wahlberg and Ferrell may not make the best cops, but they’re an absolutely stellar comedic team. To their credit, McKay and Other Guys screenwriter Chris Henchy, know we won’t settle for just the tired bickering odd-couple scenario of buddy comedies past (see Cop Out), and they take care at several points to flip the script on the formula when Gamble and Hoitz hit the streets together, giving Wahlberg as many opportunities to flex his comedic muscles as Ferrell. It’s a bit of a gamble — the rapper-turned-actor isn’t exactly known for his range — but it pays off handsomely in the film.<br /><br />Wahlberg has shown a welcome willingness to make fun of himself in recent years with his cameos on SNL and in Date Night. His performance in The Other Guys is in many ways a straight-up parody of his abrasive, expletive-spewing character in The Departed, a role for which he earned an Oscar nomination. (This still boggles my mind — I hope Mark is sending weekly gift baskets to both Martin Scorsese and the Academy.) The Other Guys is easily his funniest work since The Happening.<br /><br />For his part, McKay throws in some solidly-crafted action sequences to complement the comedy, and even makes a stellar cameo as the leader of Dirty Mike and the Boys, a gang of homeless men who terrorize the Priuses of New York City with their all-night orgies, for which the interior of Toyota’s trendy hybrid are apparently ideal. But as a storyteller, he still struggles mightily with the third act (see Step Brothers, a film that all but fell off a cliff). The film loses some of its momentum in the second half, mainly because it must get down to the business of resolving its nebulous plot, which centers around the corrupt dealings of a hedge-fund charlatan (Steve Coogan) and some improperly filled-out scaffolding permits. But resolution issues notwithstanding, The Other Guys still marks a solid upgrade over Step Brothers in the McKay-Ferrell pantheon, and is arguably their best collaboration since Anchorman.</div><br /><br />

Piranha 3D : Really Kiddish Movie Review

What they will not find is much in the way of a plot, quality acting, or anything remotely resembling restraint. But you weren’t really expecting that in a film about killer fish, were you?<br /><br />In Piranha 3D, director Alexandre Aja’s (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes remake) overriding concern is with his relentless onslaught of T&E — tits and entrails. He often groups them together in the same scene — presumably for efficiency’s sake — as when a busty topless parasailor (an IMDB search reveals her to be a porn star named Gianna Michaels) is bisected during a brief dip below the water’s surface, or when a similarly-endowed party girl is separated from her bikini top — and then much of her upper torso — by a stray cable from a tumbling platform. Indeed, Piranha DDD might be a more suitable title for the film, given Aja’s Russ Meyer-meets-Faces of Death sensibility.<br /><br />Given the ridiculous subject matter, Aja has little choice but to wholeheartedly embrace the camp of it all, and Piranha 3D is nothing less than the Avatar of B movie schlockfests. In addition to its array of grotesquely violent set pieces, the film boasts a gleefully wicked sense of humor, the primary vessel of which is Jerry O’Connell, who plays internet sleaze merchant Derrick Jones, an obvious stand-in for the aforementioned Francis. In search of fresh meat for his co-ed porn site, he combs the fictional Arizona resort town of Lake Victoria at the height of spring break for new prey. Unbeknownst to him, his prospective talent pool is about to be decimated by a swarm of piranhas recently freed from their undersea prison by a timely earthquake — this despite the heroic efforts of the town’s pair of hardy but laughably impotent sheriffs, (Elisabeth Shue and Ving Rhames).<br /><br />These razor-toothed piranhas may seem like mindless predators, but they are not without their share of admirable traits. Before beginning their feeding frenzy, for example, they’re considerate enough to allow the lake’s doomed revelers one last hedonistic hurrah, the highlight of which is an extended sequence in which Jones’ two most prized fillies, played by softcore titans Kelly Brook and Riley Steele, frolic naked underwater to the tune of “The Flower Duet” from Delibes’ Lakme. (“They’re like fish with boobies!” their director shouts ecstatically.) The fish clearly possess a taste for the ironic, and perhaps a bit of a feminist streak as well, as we witness when O’Connell’s character is literally emasculated during an ill-timed dive. (Fittingly, he gurgles “Wet t-shirt” as his final, blood-drenched words.) As his severed manhood sinks toward the bottom, a piranha arrives and snaps it up, but it doesn’t quite agree with the creature, and the penis is quickly burped up in disgust. Even the fish can’t stomach him, it seems.<br /><br />‘Piranha DDD’ is a more apt title for this breathless onslaught of T&E (the ‘E’ is for Entrails); the ‘Avatar’ of B movie schlockfests. </div><br /><br />

The latest news is that the film is going to commence from August 27th.<br /><br />Sources say that this new project is said to be part 3 to ‘Money’ and a sequel to ‘Money Money’. Once again ace comedian Brahmanandam would be seen as ‘Khan Dada’ in this film also.<br /><br />‘Money Money more Money’ is being produced by Raghunath and Narender under Simhapuri Talkies banner.<br /><br />Producers of the film Raghunath and Narender said, “We are very happy to produce ‘Money Money more Money’ movie as a sequel to ‘Money Money’. I think this is the first time that a Telugu cinema as part 3. JD Chakravarthy, who has got critical acclamation for his earlier directed movies like ‘Homam’ and ‘Siddham’, would definitely prove his comedy filming skills with this movie.<br /><br /><br />‘Mrugham’ fame Swamy is directing his upcoming venture 'Neti Charitra’, with a tagline ‘History Repeats’.
