Asin Thottumkal was born on 26th October 1985 in Kochi, Kerala, India. Her father name is a Joseph Tottumkal, who was an entrepreneur is now her manager. Her mother name is a Seline Thottumkal, who is a surgeon by profession.
Asin completed studied at Naval Public School and St Theresa's Higher Secondary School. After completed College with a degree B.A. in English Literature from St Theresa's College.
After completed college, she assisted her father in his business that was diverse ranging from software to exports. She also completed Modeling class and has appeared in ads for Colgate Toothpaste and Fairever Cream.
Asin was fifteen years old, first time chance acting in Malayalam Movie Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001. She was works on Malayalam and Telugu movie and also won her the Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award & Best Actress Award.
Asin, after establishing herself as a star in the South Indian film industry, is aiming for a repeat performance in Bollywood with Ghajini starring Amir Khan being a step in the right direction. She also sign contract with Vipul Shah's London Dreams with actor Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, releasing in 2009.
