Mirpur: Though Bangladesh batsmen put up a brave show in their chase of a towering total of 371 posted by India, their effort was not enough to take the opening World Cup encounter to a close finish at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.
Earlier, Virender Sehwag unleashed a merciless assault on the hapless Bangladeshi bowlers to smash 175 as India piled up an imposing 370 for four.
