New Delhi: Friends, fans and family members of late Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi paid homage to the legend at his residence in the national capital on Friday. Tiger Pataudi's burial will take place later in the day in this ancestral village.
Chief Minister Shiela Dixit and other politicians Arun Jaitley, Digvijay Singh were present and so was newly appointed IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla.
Some of the Bollywood celebrities are expected to directly reach the village in Pataudi in Haryana for the last rites.
The mood was sombre, there were people from all walks all life which included Congress and BJP leaders and everyone was united in grief.
The ambulance carrying Pataudi's body was followed by two different cars, one carrying his wife Sharmila and Soha Ali Khan and the other had his son Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
The funeral is expected to start around 2 pm this afternoon.
Earlier on Thursday, Pataudi who was admitted to hospital on 3rd September passed away after battling a severe lung infection.
