Aayirathil Oruvan is a Fantasy filled thriller subject filmed by the director Selvaraghavan and is made on a budget of Rs 32 crores. The movies which took two years in making is well worth to be watched. The first half of the movie is filled with comedy, action, enthralling locations and is excellently captured on frame. The second half carries the first half and gives a message about the difference between the past & present generation living and cultures and most importantly the basic human compassion.



Aayirathil Oruvan begins with the story which is interesting. The government of India wants to known the details about a previous mission which was unaccomplished by an archeologist, whose existence has vanished after taking up the mission. So, the government of Indian directs the archeological department to appoint another team of archeologists who can find the traces of the previous archeologist and his findings. Archeologist Anitha Pandian (Reemma) is given the duty to trace out the details about the mission which was unaccomplished and also the duty to track down the were about of scientist and archeologist who vanished while in duty. A military officer Ravi (Azhaga perumal) is also given the duty to take part in the mission as a security officer.




The missing archeologist was given the duty to discover the last chola civilization and now, Anitha has to find him and also accomplish his unfinished mission. The team is provided with the assistance of Lavanya (Andréa), who is the daughter of the missing archeologist. She has the talent to take the team to the lost city and has potential to help the team accomplish the mission.



In order to help the team of archeologists get to the spot along with their belongings, a group of collie gang is entrusted with the job to carry the belongings, Muthu(Karthi) is the leader of the coolies and is a bad mouthed, uncouth guy with a bit of golden heart.



The team goes through the jungle terrain and sea route to reach the expedition and stumble of the civilization of the chola king (Parthiban). Then the twists and turns of the story are inexpressible and are better to be watched on the biog silver screen.



Paruthee Veeran Karthi plays his role perfectly and his dialogue and body language match his film character in Aayirathil Oruvan.



Reema Sen adds glamour and also substance to the movie and the flow is kept on her by her with her superb acting. Her acting talents are well exposed in the film by director Selva.



Andrea’s acting is good and she also adds glamour to the movies thrill and plays her role perfectly.




The other characters like Prathap Pothan, Azhagan, and Parthiban and so on play their characters well.



Music by GV Prakash is apt to the storyline. The background score matches the movies mood and specially the song which is a remixed version of old MGR song filmed of Karthi is perfect to entertain the mass crowds.



Selvaraghavan did a good job as well as Ramji the cameraman.Performance wise Karthy as well reema sen delivered a good performance.All in all Aayirathil oruvan is a good movie, But not for Entertainment.
