Actress Asin could face a ban from the South Indian films. In fact, a decision on her ban is expected to be made by the South Indian Film Artistes' Association shortly.
The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) has decided to boycott Bollywood actors and technicians who performed at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Sri Lanka, following allegations of genocide against Lankan Tamils during the war against the (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) LTTE and the continuing discrimination against them.
Asin is currently shooting with Salman Khan in Sri Lanka for Anees Bazmee's ‘Ready’, a remake of the Telugu hit ‘Ready’. This ban on Asin will significantly affect her career in movies and commercials. Also, Asin has acted in a Kollywood film ‘Kaavalkaran’ with Vijay and it would be interesting to see how SIFCC reacts to this film.
