German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz on Friday launched its flagship super sports car SLS AMG in the Indian market. Priced between Rs. 2 crore and Rs. 2.50 crore, SLS AMG is powered by a 6.2 litre engine and equipped with speedshift sports transmission to give a maximum speed of 317 km per hour.
Mercedes had showcased the SLS-AMG — that boasts of a top speed of 317 kms per hour — at the Delhi Auto Expo in January this year.The car, that has an aluminium body shell to give it a lighter weight, has competitors in Audi's R8 and Porsche 911 Turbo.India has also become the first right-hand drive (RHD) market to have the SLS AMG, the aviation-inspired sports car with its doors designed like gullwing.
