Unfortunately, Malayalam film industry had no Onam last year, since Onam (September 10 to 14) happened to fall during the month long Noyambu or Ramzan fasting (from September 2 to October 1)! So the film makers shifted their all Onam releases to Ramzan last year. But this year, we have three releases to cheer us in the forthcoming Onam season.
They are Vinayan’s Yakshiyum Njanum, Rajiv Anchal’s Paatinte Palazhi and Sreenivasan’s Athmakadha, which are scheduled to release on August 20 and 21. Yakshiyum Njanum has Gowtham, Shyam, Meghna Nair and late actor Rajan P. Dev’s son Jubin Raj newcomers in the lead; Jubin Raj is the villain. Paatinte Palazhi is a musical with Meera Jasmine playing a singer. Athmakadha is an off-beat film directed by Premlal, a former associate of Blessy.
