Dasara Narayana Rao has started a trust by name "needa-Dasari Charitable trust", the main motive of the trust is to give food and shelter for the old aged and also includes providing education for two poor students until there higher studies.
The Savitri Award which would be presented on the eve of Dasari birthday every year is awarded to Actress Jamuna and also the award given on the name of Dasari is announced to be awarded to young talented director Nandini Reddy, and Best Journalist award is announced to parcha Sarath Kumar and Best Photographer is announced to Kumar Swamy.
