Security has been tightened and more policemen have been deployed at actor Vadivelu's house at Virugambakkam in Chennai today after the AIADMK - DMDK surged ahead in the early round of counting of votes polled for the State Assembly elections.
During the run-up to the polls, Vadivelu had campaigned for the DMK-led combine and unleashed a verbal volley on DMDK president Vijayakanth. The actor had campaigned in various constituencies and targetted Vijayakanth in his speech. He even described Vijayakanth as a habitual drinker and a big zero in politics.
He had received threats after the elections and he called on Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and sought police protection.
Now with the AIADMK - DMDK combine ahead in the polls, additional policemen have been deployed at his house fearing a possible attack by the DMDK cadres.
