Malayalam appears to be the most happening language in South Indian movie industry. Even while providing lead actresses to other language films, Malayalam attracts talents.
After the gigantic introduction of Sarath Kumar into Malayalam in M.T - Hariharan - Mammootty film Pazhashi Raja, Prabhu got a prominent role in Mammooty film Pramani. None other than Amithab Bachan is acting with Mohanlal. Now it is the turn of popular Tamil director-actor Samuthirakani, who directed Naadodigal and has given a spectacular performance in Subramaniapuram to enter this beautiful land.
He will be the goliath in superstar Mohanlal's film Shikar, directed by Padmakumar. Mohanlal who got overwhelmed with Samuthirakani's stellar show in Subramaniapuram recommended him to the director. Shikar provides Samuthirakani good role with the superstar. In Shikar, Mohanlal plays a lorry driver named Balaraman, who transports commodities between cities in South India and he is on a mission to seek revenge. Smells like Bramaram, right?
Naadodigal heroine Ananya appears as Mohanlal's daughter and Lakshmi Gopalasamy plays his dear wife. Locations are Kothamangalam, Idukki, Adimali, Tuticorin and Hyderabad. The film would also feature Jagathy Sreekumar and Suraj Venjarammoodu.
The movie's production has not interrupted by the film strike as Shikaar's crew took sample shoot before the ban.
The film scripted by S Sureshbabu is slated for Onam in September. Currently, Mohanlal is working on many projects, including Kandahaar.
