Trade sources have indicated that there will not be a clash on July 26. Earlier we had reported that four films - Pattathu Yaanai, Ponmaalai Pozhudhu, Sonna Puriyaadhu and Thanga Meengal were due on July 26.
However it proved to be difficult due to acute shortage of screens. Now unofficial sources say Ponmalai Pozhudhu and Thanga Meengal have withdrawn from the release battle. They have now decided to try their luck after Vijay’s Thalaivaa releases in August.
The buzz is that the two small films just could not get theatres which preferred the mass action comedy Vishal’s Pattathu Yaanai and Shiva’s comedy riot Sonna Puriyathu. Added to that Suriya’s Singam 2 turned out to be a hit and will hold on to some screens and Dhanush’s Maryan releasing on July 19 will surely occupy releasing screens in its second week.
Actually theatre availability position is very bad and even Pattathu Yaanai and Sonna Puriyathu are finding it difficult to get confirmed screens.
