Poet Vaali, after a long illness breathed his last today. The veteran was 82 and is survived by a son.
He was recently admitted in Apollo Hospitals, Chennai following further deterioration of health and subsequently put on Ventilator. The body of the lyricist is currently being brought back to his residence at Karpagam Avenue, R.A.Puram.
The legendary lyricist has penned over 10,000 film songs and has even authored a number of books including Naanum Indha Nootrandum, Avathara Purushan, Pandavar Bhoomi, Ramanuja Kaviyam, Krishna Vijayam, Kalaignar Kaviyam, Krishna Bhakthan and Vaaliba vaali.
Known for his quick adaptability to any changing trend, the lyricist is a proud owner of a large fan base for his incredible lines. He has also won five State Awards, Padmashri and countless other awards.
The entire Tamil industry is in moaning and Behindwoods conveys its deepest condolences to the bereaved.
Vaali sir... We bow our heads to thee, one of the greatest writers the language has ever had.
