Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is currently working with Ilayathalapathy Vijay in Jilla. While discussing trends in the Tamil and Malayalam film industries and the audience’s response to them, the 'Siraichaalai' hero says that there is a huge market and popularity for Vijay and Suriya in Kerala. He also adds that their films are being lapped up by everyone and the artists have a big fan base in God’s own country.
While admitting this, he also puts forth a request to Tamil fans. Although Kerala audiences are open to all kinds of films and welcome them, it is not the case in Tamil Nadu. He feels bad that Malayalam films don’t even run for ten days in theatres in Chennai. He appeals to Tamil fans to patronize Malayalam films also, to enable the growth of the industry.
